"I like poop"

i dont have much time this week to write but ill try to get as much in as i can!

i love Itatiaia! its amazing. the people are very humble and very receptive to the spirit! we have new investigators that are amazing, they are just have problems with authority and with understanding that there is only one true church.

my companion is great! she is very obedient and teached me new things everyday! portugues is coming along pretty well! its still kind of hard to understand sometimes when people talk really fast but im getting better everyday and i know that the gift of tongues is real and that the Lord is with me and helps me everyday. I have also started an aula de ingles (english class) its awesome! the first day like 20 people came! and a lot of them were less actives! so that was a great miracle! 

My area is a really small town where there is like nothing haha but this week i go to go to my fist district meeting and it was so exciting it was like driving into new york! ha there were so many people and buildings, it was really fun! also i made a joke about skinny dipping and my whole district was like whats that?(im the only american in my district the rest are all brazilians) and so i told them what it meant and they all laughed so hard and now they joke about it all the time, its hilarious. they also like to make fun of me a lot. i accidentally said i like poop... its very similar to coconut, they literally just move the accent over, but now everytime they see me they just tell me to not eat poop cause its bad for me.. they think they are very funny haha

well im out of time but i will try to write more next week! i love all of you and always remember to follow the example of Jesus Christ!

Campo!

This week was crazy!! i left the ctm at 9 am on tuesday and our flight to juiz de fora was supposed to leave at 12:40 that afternoon but it started raining and apparently thats a huge deal in Sao paulo... so our flight got delayed 5 times and finally at 6 pm it got cancelled. we had to get our suitcases and call the ctm (its like 2 hours away from the airport) they said they didnt know what to do and so they called pres. cascardi and he didnt know what to do either. so we had a great adventure and slept at the airport until a flight came in at like 4 in the morning, the funny thing is that it was like a 40 minute flight... haha but all is well! it was very fun and we started prosleyting in the airport! im sure thats why it happened there was probably some who desperately need to hear the gospel that day! 

we got to juiz de fora at like 5 am on wednesday and our poor president had been waiting the whole time! he let us go sleep then we got up at around 11 am (so weird!) then we ate at his house and got some orientation and then we got our trainors! my companion is sister Nascimento, she is incredible!! i absolutley love her! she is such a hard worker and she is exactly obedient which is fantastic! our area right now is Itatiaia which is actually in rio de janiero. its a very small town and we have to walk everywhere because there isnt really public transportation.

 the first day here was crazy, we taught 5 lessons and i taught the restoration basically by myself which was really scary but it went really well! we made 20 contacts and walked more than i have ever walked in my life! when we got home at night i was so tired and dead but i was so happy! i love the people here so much already! they are all so poor and humble, and its incredible to see how the Lord prepared His children to recieve the gospel! i see miracles everyday! we contacted a few people on the street and invited them to come to church on sunday and three of them came! its amazing how the people here are so receptive!

we have a brand new investigator, her name is Leanes and she is awesome! we contacted her on the street and when we asked for her address she said that it was close by and that we could share a message with her right now! it was awesome we taught the restoration and she had a lot of questions but she was very enthusiastic! she is not married but living with her boyfriend which is something we have to resolve but after that she is ready for baptism!

i wish i could write every single thing that im exeperiencing because its amazing! but i dont have very much time so ill have to settle for telling you bits and pieces haha but i love all of you so much and i hope you are all doing well! remember to always follow the example of Jesus Christ and use His atonement in your life every day!

Ao Campo!!

So im finally leaving the ctm (centro de tortura mental) inside joke haha but no it was great here at the ctm and i had a blast!! but im leaving here on terça! im so excited to go out to the campo and teach people! i feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be serving here in brasil and i know that the Lord has prepared people just for me to teach them about this incredible gospel!! i dont have much time to write today but i wanted to say that i love all of you and i hope you are all doing well!  

tell joe and ash that i love them very much and i miss them soo much, tell them i say to do their best everyday and to read the scriptures and pray everyday! as i have been out here i pray and read the scriptures all day!! and i also teach some lessons but 10 hours of my day is just praying and reading and i can testify to you guys that is icredible the difference these two things can make in your life! at times prayer and reading your scriptures can seem like small things but its through these two things that we are able to stay on the straight and narrow! these are two of the most important things you need to be doing in your life! if you are not reading and praying everyday then you are not progressing and if your not progressing than you are digressing and that is not what Heavenly Father wants! the first principle of the gospel is fatih, and faith without works is dead so if we are not faithfully reading and praying everyday we are not obeying the laws and principles of the gospel. i know you guys are amazing children of God and i know he is proud of you and loves you so show him that you love him too and are worthy of his blessings in your life! i love you all sooo  much

Grandma's a Missionary

I dont know if it was Christmas or what but this week went by soo fast it was crazy! 

im having loads of fun here at the ctm but i honestly just cant wait to get out of here! i want to go into the field and teach people already! 

talking to you guys on christmas was amazing! i miss hearing moms voice everyday and i miss her hugs! i miss joe and ashley too! but there is no place in the world id rather be than here! i know that this is where the Lord wants me and i know its where im needed! 

we got to go to the campinas temple today and that was incredible, i was in the celestial room and i was praying and i just felt like grandma was there, and i know that she is also a missionary! she is doing missionary work on the other side of the veil! it made me so happy and i thought i would share that with you guys. 

i dont have a lot of time today but i just want to tell you guys that i love you and im so grateful for all of you! 

did you guys get my pictures yet?? also i wont be emailing you again until next friday, soo it will be awhile, its just been weird lately because of christmas and new years but next week will be normal and then it will get crazy again because after my friday pday i will be heading out to the field! yay!!

Two Temples

 i feel like i have so much to tell but i cant fit all of it, its crazy my life is incredible and upside down and just crazy but i absolutely love it!! thats super nice that you started a blog! i dont know if you will be able to put anything useful in there cause i feel like everything i write is so scattered and has so many typos, its insane... 

i got to have pday today because its usuallly on friday but christmas is on friday so thats fun! i love the temple it is so incredible i wish i could just spend all day in there! we are super lucky because the ctm is in the middle of two temples so we just get to switch off and go to sao paulo one pday and campinas the next!  oh! tomorrow i get to go proselyting for the first time!! im super excited! its still kind of scary because although i feel like im picking up portuguese fairly quickly i still have a lot to learn. but i am just so excited to go and talk to people!! i want to share this incredible gospel with everyone! 

ok so i have like no time at all especially since this is like a makeshift pday but i love you so much!!

im sorry i couldnt email you the first week! i had like no time! haha i still dont... but  EU TE AMO MUITO!!  i miss you guys a lot and im sad i cant be with you guys for christmas but im soo grateful to be here in brasil, it is just amazing!! its hard work but it is the greatest! 

ok i really have to hurry haha but guess what?? there are two elders here from lehi high school! its awesome haha 

i got to go to the sao paulo temple today so that was awesome! it was crazy spiritual and the detail inside the temple is incredible! 

guess what? i have actually lost weight since being here so thats cool! also could you ask mom or jay if they are getting my emails cause i havent even gotten one from them.... haha oh also could you let them know that i wont be able to skype on christmas, the internet here kind of sucks haha so i just get to call! but i will be calling you gusy at 3:00 sao paulo time, so probably in the morning for you guys but could you make sure everyone had their phones on them? i only get until 3:30 so i have to be quick haha

Extra Time

ok so i have a little more extra time to write and i just wanted to say that i love it here so much! i went to the campinas temple today and it was incredible! we are lucky because we are in the middle of the campinas temple and the sao paulo temple so every week we get to switch off and go to both! its very hot and humid here but i love! also the food is good! (not as good as moms but it is all right haha) 

please tell joe and ashley that i love and miss them soo much they are wonderful kids and have the potential to become anything they want! they will both be powerful missionaries! tell them also that they need to prepare now!! especially Joe! He is soo smart but kind of a lazy bum! Joe you have to work hard and remember to pray and read you scriptures every night! make sure you have a strong relationship with Pai Celestial e Jesus Cristo! if you dont know Christ how will you help others come unto him?? There are people being prepared for you right this second! so that you should be preparing as well! there is a sister and an elder here who are siblings! they came the same day and got called to the same mission how crazy is that?? everytime i see them i miss you soo much Joe! you are special son of God and also a pooface and i love you more than words can describe! remember to be a better you everyday! 

my little ashley! i love you soo much! remember that even though you are years away you also need to prepare because there are also people being prepared for you!! keep doing gymnastics and keep being yourself. i know that one day you will be even better than Gaby Douglas and little girls will look up to you and tell their moms that they want to be just like Ashley Hair! you are a choice daughter of God! dont let anyone tell you different! remember to be a leader!! not a follower!! make good chioces always and listen to mom! you were blessed with the greatest mother in the world! dont take her for granted, appreciate her every day and let her know you love her not only through your words but through your actions as well. you too Joe!! 

ok now i really am out of time but i love you all! remember to always be an example and hold fast to Jesus Christ he is our savior and knows exactly how to help us!
